Vice president M Venkaiah Naidu to attend Medaram Jatara

NewDelhi Jan 31: The biggest Tribal festival of India the Medaram jatara has started today and many devotees have started their journey to the holy forest site to offer their Prayers. The Festival has a lot of significance and many celebrities and politicians are also expected to attend the event.

Telangana BJP Leader K Laxman on Tuesday said that "Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and a few Central Ministers had accepted the invitation extended by State BJP unit to attend the Medaram jatara."



Earlier the BJP leaders have flagged off Ambulance service to sammaka-Saraka jatara and have spoken to media and said that "it was a prestigious tribal festival and BJP had invited national leaders and Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh to take part in the biennial event."

Laxman has added that "To help devotees, the State unit was sending ambulance services to Medaram jatara. We requested the Central government to declare Asia's largest tribal festival as a national festival and hope it will be accepted soon."

Meanwhile, Telangana CM KCR would visit Medaram on Feb 2 and would offer prayers.
