Kothagudem Airport gets site clearance from Central Government

New Delhi Jan 30: Union Government has tabled the economic survey for the financial year 2017-18 on Monday.The Survey had hailed the governments focus to improve the regional connectivity in the
states.

The survey has added that 18 new airports will come up in the country, including those in Mopa in Goa, Navi Mumbai, Shirdi and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Hasan and Shimoga in Karnataka and Kannur in Kerala.

The survey also pointed out that " the Government has granted 'site clearance' for five greenfield airports: Machiwara in Punjab, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, Alwar in Rajasthan and Kothagudem in Telangana."

Telangana Government has said that we are happy that clearance had been given for Airport and we would ensure that the construction of the airport is completed as soon as possible.
