Telangana CM KCR to visit Medaram Jatara on Feb 2nd

Hyderabad, Jan 29: The Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would visit Medaram and offer prayers to tribal deities Samakka Saralamma on February 2, said Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari.

He was here to review the final arrangements for the jatara on Sunday.Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu is also likely to visit Medaram village.

Mr. Srihari waded through Jampanna Vagu and interacted with devotees and asked if they were happy with the arrangements. Later he met officials of various departments and reviewed the situation. Mr. Srihari asked the officials to be alert round the clock and ensure incident-free jatara.

The jatara begins on January 31 when tribal priests bring Saralamma from Kannepalli village.

On February 1, they will bring Samakka from Chilkalagutta, two kilometers away from Medaram. On February 2, both the deities would adorn the altar.

On Friday, which is considered auspicious, large numbers of devotees are expected to throng the venue. On February 3, the jatara would conclude with priests taking the deities back to the villages.
