Finance Ministry Arun Jaitley places Economic survey in Parliament

New Delhi Jan 29: The Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has tabled the economic survey for the year 2018-19 ahead of the budget.The survey was placed in both houses of the parliament after the president Ramnath Kovind had addressed both houses of the parliament.

Generally, the economic survey is placed in parliament every year before the budget.the survey shows some of the key areas where the government would focus its spending in next fiscal year and the state of the economy would also be predicted in the survey.

Some of the highlights of the survey are
# FY19 GDP growing 7-7.5% vs 6.75% in FY18
# average crude oil prices rising 12 percent in FY19
# Real GDP growth to clock 6.75% this fiscal
#Inflation during 2017-2018 averaged to lowest in the last 6 years
# Post-demonetization and GST increase in new tax filers of about 1.8 million and some boost to individual income tax collections.
