Alcohol and meat prices skyrocket ahead of Medaram Jatara

Medaram Jan 29: The biggest tribal festival of Telangana, Medaram jatara would be starting from Jan 31 and will conclude on Feb 3. Currently, many people have visited the forest site and have offered prayers.

However Due to the heavy influx of devotees the prices of essential items that are offered to the tribal gods have skyrocketed. Sources said that the jaggery prices have tremendously shot up as it is the main Prasdam people offer to the god.

People have also said that common puja items have also increased.During the festival, people cook non-vegetarian food and consume alcohol.These items prices have skyrocketed.

Currently, A quarter bottle is being sold for Rs 5o and the customers have to pay Rs 200 for a full bottle.The beer bottles prices have increased to Rs 150 per bottle.cheap liquor also became costlier by Rs 30.

The price of broiler chicken (live bird) that costs Rs 100 per kg has gone up by Rs 140, the country chicken has become dearer as it was costing anywhere around Rs 340 per kg. The water bottle is also being sold at Rs 40.
