Hyderabad Metro Phase -2 DPR to be prepared by DMRC

Hyderabad Jan 27: The Telangana State Government on Friday had initiated the proposal of construction of Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase 2. Earlier too The government had held discussions with the various group. The State Government on Friday had urged the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to prepare the detailed project report.

DMRC was given the job on Thursday and has to submit the DPR within five months and the agency had already prepared a DPR for phase 1 of Hyderabad Metro project and the agency would be preparing a report after conducting environmental impact and social impact assessment studies of the proposed project.

Proposals for Phase -2
The proposals routes for Hyd Metro phase 2 are
# Three corridors have been identified so far for Phase II. The corridors, spreading over approximately 60 km, include lines from Raidurg to Shamshabad airport, from BHEL (Ramachandrapuram) to Lakdikapul and from Nagole to LB Nagar.

# Raidurg to Shamshabad airport via Gachibowli, Telangana Police Academy, Rajendranagar and Shamshabad covering a distance of 28 km to 30 km.

# BHEL to Miyapur (Madinaguda Jn) and then to Lakdi-kapul via Chandanagar, Madinaguda, Hafeezpet, Kondapur, Botanical Gardens, Gachibowli, Khajaguda junction, HS Darga, Shaikpet, Salarjung Colony, Reti Bowli, Mehdipatnam, NMDC, Masab Tank.

Municipal administration principal secretary Arvind Kumar said that "The routes and alignments have not been finalized yet. The government may add some more lines after considering various issues like travel demand, financial viability, and other issues."
