Union Secretary praises Telangana Govt

Hyderabad Jan 25: Union Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forest CK Mishra has visited the Telangana state and has taken stock of about various programmes implemented by the state government
such as Mission Bhagiratha, Kaleshwaram irrigation projects and Haritha Haram and has appreciated the government.

The secretary had held talks with various officials of the state and has offered further help to the State to clear hurdles if any to ensure their timely completion. He said, "the very purpose of his visit to the State was to identify areas that needed the support of his department and to have first-hand information on the impact of the project."

Mishra added that "the Kaleshwaram would help meet the irrigation and drinking water needs of the State besides recharging the groundwater leveling a big way. The works were going on at the brisk pace,".

Finally, he lauded the government for ensuring not much of an environment is damaged and was impressed with Haritha haram Scheme.
