Karnataka Bandh; examinations rescheduled

Several examinations have been rescheduled in view of the Karnataka Bandh on January 25 called by various organisations protesting against the "Centre's apathy" towards the Mahadayi river dispute. Schools and colleges are also expected to remain closed.

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has rescheduled its exams for Post Graduate Theory, scheduled on January 25. The exam will now be conducted on February 5, 2018. Timings for the examination remain unchanged, a report said.

On Tuesday, January 23, Karnataka's Associated Management of Primary and Secondary Schools sent an advisory to schools that they should remain closed on the day of Karnataka Bandh. The schools will now conduct full-day classes on Saturday to complete their syllabus, the advisory mentioned.
