Delhi HC refuses to stay disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs

NewDelhi Jan 24: The Trouble for Arvind Kejriwal is mounting these days as Delhi High Court on Wednesday refused to stay the union governments notification of disqualifying 20 AAP MLAs for holding the office of Profit.

The HC has restrained the Election Commission from taking any precipitate measures like announcing the dates for by-polls till January 29. The high court has also sought response from center and EC regarding the disqualification of MLAs.

The high court has also summoned the entire records pertaining to the proceedings leading to the recommendation of the Election Commission for 20 MLAs' disqualification which received the President's assent on January 20.

Meanwhile, the Congress has demanded the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal as the Delhi CM.
