Mahabubnagar Congress Mahila President joins TRS along with husband

Mahabubnagar, Jan 22: In a major blow to Congress party in Mahabubnagar, District Mahila Congress President Padmaja Yadav, along with her husband Gopal Yadav joined TRS party on Monday, in presence of MLA V. Srinivas Goud.

Gopal Yadav has been active in town politics for the past three decades and has also served several times as a ward councilor. His wife, Padmaja, is currently the ward councilor for the 21st ward. His paternal uncle Sahadeva Yadav had also served as the Municipal Chairperson in the past.

Addressing the media after wearing the pink stole at the R&B Guest House in Mahabubnagar town, he said that though he had been with Congress party for decades, he had worked along with TRS from 2000 to 2005 and had also won as a counselor on TRS’ ticket back then.

However, influenced by the leadership of Congress leader Vittal Rao, he went back to Congress later. He said that it was because of the development of Yadava community under the leadership of MLA V. Srinivas Goud, he had taken the decision to become part of the developmental story of the community he belonged to.

Padmaja Yadav said that she, as a ward councilor, had received a lot of support and help from MLA Srinivas Goud whether it was the restoration of Yerakunta Cheruvu or development of a park in her ward.

Municipal Chairperson Radha Amar, TRS State Secretary Md Imtiyaaz and others were present on the occasion.
