MEA :No meeeting of PM Modi with Pak PM

New Delhi Jan 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for Davos, on Monday to attend this year's World Economic Forum and it was confirmed by MEA.

The MEA has also confirmed that there would be no mmeeting of Indian PM with Pakistan PM on the sidelines of the summit.

Sources said that "This will be the first prime ministerial participation from India in two decades after the participation of then Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda in 1997.

Vijay Gokhale, Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs, said that "in 1997, the Indian economy was well below $1 trillion whereas it is now above $2 trillion."

"The main event is the keynote speech the Prime Minister will give at the plenary session on January 23." he added.
