UIDAI Allows Airtel company for E-KYC

Mumbai Jan 12: In a Major relief to Airtel the UIDAI has allowed the telecom operator to continue Aadhaar-based e-verification of telecom subscribers until the end of this financial year.

Sources said that the Aadhar Agency has given permission after the telecom operator has paid a penalty to the agency for misusing the Aadhar and also returned the gas subsidy to the customers.

Earlier the UIDAI has suspended temporarily the license of Airtel as people have complained that the telecom operator has illegally opened bank accounts and transferred subsidy into the new accounts without their consent.

Later the Aadhar agency has issued a clarification that gas subsidy and other benefits would bene be transferred to bank accounts of customers wish and he should write a letter to change his account of subsidy transfer.
