Vice President offers prayers at Tirumala Temple

Tirupati, Jan 11: The Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu offered prayers at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara here on Thursday.

Mr. Naidu has arrived in the temple town with his family members on Wednesday evening and stayed at a heavily guarded Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) guest house on the hills.

On his arrival at the shrine, he was accorded a warm welcome and conducted the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine by TTD Executive Officer AK Singhal and other top officials. He was in the shrine for about 20 minutes, according to temple sources.

After offering prayers, the Vice President was honored with the sacred silk cloth and holy prasadams by the TTD officials at Ranganayaka Mandapam inside the temple complex.
