Padmavat Movie to be released in Goa, UP and Uttharakhand

Panaji Jan 10: The BJP ruled government such as Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand have given their nod for the release of the Padmavat movie after it has received censor certificate.

Earlier BJP CM yogi Adithyanath has objected to the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie as it contained objectionable scenes and the Rajput community demanded a ban on the film.

However recently some states have changed their mind as the movie got CBFC clearance and it suggested some changes.

UP Govt officials have said that "there was no order as such to ban the proposed release of the film in the state. But, in view of the protest calls from some quarters and the law and order in mind, a close watch is being kept on the developments".

Uttarakhand Government officials have added that "there is no such order on the ban of the movie."

Goa CM Manohar Parrikar has said that "If they have a censor certificate we do not have an objection. If there is a law and order issue, we will look at it then."

Padmavat movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and it stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in lead roles.
