Governor ESL Narasimhan meets President Ramnath Kovind

Hyderabad, Jan 09: The Common Governor for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ESL Narasimhan has submitted a report on the best practices in Raj Bhavan to President Ramnath Kovind on Tuesday.

A five-member committee comprising the governors of Telangana and AP, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu was constituted in October 2017 to suggest reforms in the institution of governors. Being a senior, governor ESL Narasimhan has been asked to compile the suggestions and come up with a report.

"The governor left for New Delhi on Monday," sources in the Raj Bhavan said. Narasimhan is likely to meet PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening to apprise the developments in both the states, including the law and order situation and other issues.

The governor is also likely to brief the PM about allegations leveled by AP BJP floor leader Vishnu Kumar Raju that the governor was favoring Telangana. Narasimhan is reportedly unhappy with the AP BJP leaders for not condemning the allegation.

The BJP leader alleged the file on the same issue pertaining to Telangana was cleared immediately. But Raj Bhavan sources said the governor had not shown any favor to Telangana.
