AP Govt to launch electronic cluster soon, creates 2000 jobs

Nellore, Jan 09: The Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj and IT minister Nara Lokesh had promised to put his efforts to establish electronic cluster around Nellore, providing 2,000 new jobs in the district by 2019.

He was addressing a public meeting after inspecting the houses constructed for the poor using shear wall technology at Venkateswarapuram here on Monday.

Sticking to his target of 1 lakh jobs in IT and 2 lakh in electronic and mobile units in the State before 2019, he said eight firms were set to start operations in Amaravati soon.

The government planned to create employment and livelihood opportunities in the vicinity of the township, the minister added.

He said his father and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had studied the model adopted by Singapore Housing Development Board for construction of quality houses for poor and decided to follow that.

The houses would have the water supply, power, drainage facility, vitrified tiles flooring and tiles up to 7 feet in the bathrooms, besides granite in the kitchen, windows with glass doors and wooden doors.
