Harish rao lays foundation stone for Thummila Lift irrigation project

Gadwal Jan 8: Telangana Irrigation minister Harish Rao on Monday has laid the foundation stone for the Thummilla lift irrigation Scheme in Rajoli Mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district.

Sources said that "The lift has been proposed to meet the irrigation needs of the gap ayacut of the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS).It will facilitate lifting of water from the foreshore of Sunkesula balancing reservoir on Tungabhadra river into the proposed Mallamkunta balancing reservoir."



Speaking at the meeting Harish Rao has said that The project would be completed within 6 months and water would be released to fields from the Kharif seasons. He had urged the officials to make sure that all hurdles should be cleared. He has also lamented on the Congress government and said that earlier government has spent many crores but the half works were half done.
