63 yrs old woman burnt alive,dies

Visakhapatnam, Jan 07: In a dreadful incident, a 63-year-old woman was burnt alive at Chettupalli area under Narsipatnam Rural police station limits in Vizag district in the wee hours on Saturday. She was living alone in a thatched house when the mishap took place.

The details reported that The deceased was identified as G. Appalanarsamma alias Varahalamma. As per the reports, the woman was staying in a hut and on Friday night, she lit fire to warm herself up in the wake of the winter chill.

The fire spread and the engulfed the entire hut. As all here neighbors were asleep at the time of the incident, the woman was burnt alive.The locals observed the fire and tried to douse but in vain.

According to locals, she was living alone and recently she underwent a surgery and walking with the help of artificial limb. As she was taking painkillers, she was fast asleep and failed to observe the fire.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem and registered a case and began an investigation into the incident.
