APCC leaders to launch Padayatra to Polavaram project

Vijayawada, Jan 07: The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President N Raghuveera Reddy said on Saturday that the Congress leaders would take out a Padayatra to Polavaram project to exert pressure on the State and Central government to expedite works.

Talking to media here on Saturday, the APCC President said that the Padayatra would begin on January 7 here and will reach the Polavaram project, located in West Godavari district, on January 10.

The Congress leaders would organise "Mass Satyagraham" at the project site on January 10, he said and demanded the state government to do justice to all Polavaram project evacuees.Mr Reddy along with Congress leaders offered prayers at Kanaka Durga temple, atop the Indrakeeladri hill this morning.

He said that he prayed the goddess to open the eyes of State and Central governments to expedite the construction works of the project.
