Prakash Javedekar :Aadhar helps to identify 80,000 fake teachers

New Delhi Jan 6: The linkage of Aadhar data to various schemes is showing results.Recently the Ministry of HRD has identified 80,000 fake teachers in the country . The data was revealed after the annual survey on higher education this year in all higher education universities was carried out.

Union HRD Minister Prakash Javedekar has unveiled the results of the survey and launched a national teachers' portal called 'Gurujan'.The portal will be a repository of information on teachers who were individually profiled in the annual survey called All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE).

Minister added that "So far only 85% teachers have given their Aadhaar numbers and we have found 80,000 cases in which lecturers were listed as employed with more than one institutes.In some cases, we found teachers employed as lecturers in as many as 4 institutes" .

Finally, he assured that the ministry would take action against fake teachers and assured that the data would be safe.
