North Korea accepts to talk with South Korea; US pulls itself out

Finally North Korea has accepted to talk peace with South Korea. According to Seoul's Unification Ministry, North and South Korea will hold official talks on January 9.

The venue of the meeting will be Panmunjom, the truce village in the heavily fortified Demilitarized Zone that divides the peninsula.

Seoul proposed high-level inter-Korean talks with North Korea which was welcomed by North Korea.

The proposal was to hold talks on January 9 to discuss North Korea's possible participation in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics slated to be held from February 9 to 25, and ways to improve ties.

After approval of North Korea, US President Donald Trump agreed with South Korea there would be no joint military drills, which North Korea bitterly opposes, during next month's Winter Olympics.
