Arun Jaitley :Indian economy was weak during UPA

New Delhi Jan 4: The upper house on Thursday has discussed the situation of the economy and the steps taken by the government to create jobs. The Congress leaders had raised the discussion.

Opposition leaders have said that the economy has slowed down and job creation has been low because of GST and Demonetisation. They have urged the government to take steps to boost the economy.

The Finance minister Arun Jaitley has replied to the debate and said that the economy has improved in past 3 years and the reforms undertook help to transform the country towards a less cash economy and more people pay taxes.

He said that the country's economy was weak under UPA 2 and we will take more reforms which are needed for the growth of the country and to create jobs.
