Telangana to take up Strategic Road Development Project

Hyderabad, Jan 04: The Telangana Minister for Municipal Administer and Urban Development KT Rama Rao on Wednesday said the state government is contemplating to take up different projects worth Rs 23,000 crore under SRDP (Strategic Road Development Project) in four phases.

Addressing after inaugurating the underpass project at Ayyappa Society junction here, Mr. Rao said 2018 will be the year of execution and quite a few projects being taken up under the SRDP will be inaugurated.

Among various projects planned under SRDP, works worth Rs 3,200 crore were already underway in different areas in the city, the Minister said.

The Ayyappa Society junction underpass is the first project to be completed under SRDP between March and June this year, a few others, including flyovers, will be completed, he announced.

SRDP was proposed by the Telangana Government for free movement of traffic on Greater Hyderabad roads.
