Centre to sanction Rs.20 Cr for spice park in Telangana

Hyderabad, Jan 04: The central government has decided to sanction Rs 20 crores for the development of spice park here along with a set up of "Special Turmeric Cell".

TRS MP, Kavitha tweeted on Wednesday, "Thanks to Union minister Suresh Prabhu on the decision of spice park and to set up Cell in Telangana state, I look forward to the launch of the cell in the month of February by the Minister, Nizamabad".

In January this year in the Assembly, Telangana Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said the government had decided to set up a Spice Park at Padgal village in Nizamabad district.

The park would be coming in an extent of 43.23 acres for which an allocation of Rs 15.50 crore had been made in the 2016-17 budget and the total estimate was pegged at about Rs 30 crore, he said in the House during the question hour.
