Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan met Telangana CM KCR

Hyderabad, Jan 02: The actor-turned-politician Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan met Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday and congratulated the latter for commissioning of 24-hour free power supply to the farm sector in the state.

Pawan Kalyan met the Telangana state Chief Minister for the first time at his official residence Pragathi Bhavan. The Jana Sena Party leader greeted the CM on the occasion of New Year. Both the leaders spent about half an hour discussing various issues, including the 24-hour power supply being implemented in the state.

Speaking to media persons outside the Pragathi Bhavan, Pawan Kalyan said that "During the Telangana agitation, it was said that the state would be in complete darkness if it is separated. I wanted to know how the situation had changed from power cuts to the 24-hour power supply. I think this should be taken as a case study by other states. It is surprising how they could make impossible as possible," said Pawan Kalyan.

The meeting of Pawan Kalyan with the Chief Minister assumed political significance since the actor-turned-politician has decided to foray into politics and contest elections in 2019. However, he said that there was nothing political about his meeting with KCR.

It is learnt that the Chief Minister had inquired about Jana Sena Party activities in Andhra Pradesh and his future plans.

The CM reportedly asked the Jana Sena chief about the activities taken up by his party in Andhra Pradesh and also told him that he was following his party activities.

He said that he had special respect towards a party which had fought for a cause. "I have been saying this since the formation of my party. I have been saying, we should take inspiration from Telangana," said Pawan Kalyan.
