AP CM called new year as Nature Farming Year

Guntur, Jan 01: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has inaugurated a zero-budget natural farming training programme here on Sunday.

He said rejuvenation of the agricultural sector will start with the adoption of the zero budget or natural farming method.

He announced that the AP government would name 2018 as the "Nature Farming Year" and declared that he would be consuming only organic food from the New Year.

While speaking after inauguration Mr.Naidu said that there was a time when only natural farming was done by Indians but over the years, there was a steady increase in the usage of pesticides and this was bad for health.

The CM said that after Punjab, Andhra Pradesh consumed the maximum amount of pesticide for farming. He said natural agriculturist Subhash Palekar's farming methods were giving good results and therefore the AP government would be promoting organic farming.
