Pak to build new hydro power in PoK; 700 megawatt project by 2022

Islamabad, Dec 30: Pakistan is planning to set up a hydro-power of over 700 megawatts in PoK to add more capacity to the existing hydropower projects in Pakistan.
The new hydro power project,Azad Pattan Hydropower Project is estimated to be complete til 2022 and will be under private sector.
"The project (Azad Pattan Hydropower Project) is an initiative of the government of Pakistan being developed in the private sector under the Policy for Power Generation 2002" a pakistani daily reported.
A tariff of Rs 8.50 per unit (kWh) for import of the electricity from the project has been proposed by Central Power Purchasing Agency.
