BJP Mahila Morcha held a silent rally protesting against Crimes on women

Hyderabad, Dec 30: The Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana Mahila Morcha conducted a silent rally protesting against atrocities on women here on Saturday.

The rally was conducted from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Administrative Office to Dr B R Ambedkar Statue at Tank Bund.

Former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, MP, Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, MLA, N Ramachander Rao, MLC, Mahila Morch President Akula Vijaya and large number of women and college students took part in the rally.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dattatreya and Vijaya accused the Telangana government for increasing atrocities against the women. There was no protection to the women in the state, they said and demanded the government to constitute Women Commission immediately.

They also accused the state government for not including women in the Cabinet even after electing six women MLAs.

While recalling Sandhya Rani's incident who was set ablaze by pouring petrol at Secunderabad, they found fault with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and TRS MP Ms Kavitha for not reacting on the incident.

D Savitri, mother of Sandhya Rani who took part in the rally said that no such incident should occur in future and hoped to end it with her daughter.
