TDP bags Kurnool MLC seat Unanimously

Kurnool, Dec 29: The Andhra Pradesh ruling party, Telugu Desam Party has bagged an MLC seat from Kurnool district unanimously in Kurnool MLC byelections here on Friday.

A few independent candidates who filed their papers in Kurnool district withdrew their candidature on the last day, paving the way for the unanimous election of the TDP candidate KE Prabhakar.

According to reports, Pulyala Nagireddy, Dandhu Seshu Yadav and Puli Jayaprakash Reddy who filed nomination as an independent,withdrew their candidature.

The principle opposition party YSR Congress withdrew from the MLC election fray in Kurnool district. The MLC seat fell vacant after YSRCP leader Silpa Chakrapani Reddy quit the post before joining the YSRCP from the TDP.
