TPCC Chief accuses TRS govt for violating basic human rights

Hyderabad, Dec 29: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt N. Uttam Kumar Reddy here on Thursday accused the TRS Government for violating the human rights to suppress people's voice against its anti-democratic policies.

Addressing after hoisting the Congress party's flag on the occasion of 133rd Formation Day at Gandhi Bhavan, state party headquarters here, Mr.Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K.Chandrashekhar Rao's Government has unleashed 'Police Raj' in Telangana State.

He said Dalits and Girijans were being humiliated repeatedly by the TRS Government. "The brutal torture of Dalits at Nerella in illegal police custody is a glaring example of human rights violation.

Similarly, Tribal farmers of Khammam were implicated in false cases, chained and handcuffed when they asked for a remunerative price for their chilli crop" he said.

Alleging that the TRS Government was functioning in an 'undemocratic' manner, Mr. Reddy called upon the Congress cadre to work hard and stay united to win the next elections.

He expressed confidence that the Congress party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, would come to power both at the Centre and in Telangana in 2019 elections.
