Russian president Putin: Explosion in Saint Petersburg act of Terror

Moscow, Dec 28: A homemade bomb exploded in a supermarket in Northwestern Russia's Saint Petersburg on Wednesday.

No deaths were reported but around 13 people were injured but exact number is not disclosed.

Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that the explosion was an act of terror.

Russian President Putin, was at a military officers meeting in in the Kremlin, Putin ordered the nation's security services to "act decisively" and "liquidate bandits on the spot" if armed militants put up resistance.

His spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters later that the Russian leader was referring to all those "who harbour plans to carry out acts of terror in our country."
