AP Fiber Net Launched by President Kovind

Amaravati, December 27: Andhra Pradesh Government created a new era in the digital field. President Ramnath Kovind has launched a specially constructed AP Fibernet project in Amravati on Wednesday.

The aim of the project is to provide quality services to the public, with only Rs 149 a three-way service (Internet, TV, and phone) with a single connection.

Governor Narasimhan, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Supreme Court Judge Justice Navi Ramana, Assembly Speaker Kodela Shivaprasada Rao, IT Department Lokesh and other officials were present at the fiber net opening ceremony.



A broadband connection with 15 Mbps speed will be provided at Rs 149 per month and 100 Mbps connections to offices at Rs 999 per month. These rates are substantially lower than what other internet service providers currently charge.

The state government plans to connect 1.3 crore households through AP FiberNet.

Andhra Pradesh government has tied up with Cisco to roll out the project.
