SBI clarifies about cheque books of Associate Banks

New Delhi Dec 27: The state bank of India on Wednesday had clarified that the validity of Cheque books of its Associate banks has been extended till Dec 31, 2017, and urged the customers to apply for new cheque books.

The officials have said that "The accountholders of banks such as Bharatiya Mahila Bank, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Raipur, State Bank of Travancore, and State Bank of Hyderabad will now have to get their cheque books replaced. "

Earlier the bank has extended the deadline from Sept 30 to Dec 31.However, there is no clarity whether the bank would further extend the date as many people still not have applied for the Cheques books.

Customers can order cheque books by visiting the bank branch or even use the ATM or SBI's mobile app or use online banking services to get a new cheque book.

Earlier the SBH, SBM, BMB, SBP, SBBJ, SBT have merged with SBI from April 1, 2017, and the bank had also modified some of the IFSC codes of the branches and informed the customers regarding the same.
