Pregnant woman commits suicide, posts a selfie video

West Godavari, Dec 26: In a shocking incident, a newly-married woman committed suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fan at her parents' house by taking a selfie video on Monday. The incident occurred in Tirumala apartments here in Tadepalligudem, West Godavari district.

The victim was identified as Naga Mounika, was a three-month pregnant. According to the police, Mounika got married to one Tirumalasetti Narendra of Prakasam district. Narendra works as a software engineer in Hyderabad.

On Monday, Mounika shot a selfie video in which she described that she was not interested in the marriage. She also asked her parents to take all the gold ornaments and money that was given to Narendra as dowry. When her parents went out, Mounika hanged herself to a ceiling fan.

The police registered a case and took Narendra into their custody. Further details of the case are still awaited.
