Govt announces releif for Pre-GST stocks

New Delhi Dec 23: In a move to grant further grant relief to companies, dealers, and retailers the Union government had extended the deadline of selling Pre GST stocks with stickers of revised maximum retail price (MRP) till March 31, 2018.

Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on Saturday has said that "In the last GST council meeting, GST rates were revised for about 200 items. For pre-gst stock, we have allowed pasting of stickers with revised MRP till March 31, 2018."

This is second such extension after the implementation of GST from July 1, 2017.Earlier the deadline was Dec 31, 2017.Sources said that the government had extended the deadline after many companies and traders expressed their inability to sell the stock before Dec 31 with revised MRP.
