Telangana to hold elections for 16 MPTCs

Hyderabad, Dec 22: The Telangana State Election Commission has issued notification for conduct of elections to 16 vacancies of MPTCs of Mandal Praja Parishads in Telangana State.

The MPTCs for which elections are being held include Netnoor and Koutala (Kumrambheem Asifabad); Gangadhara and Achampalli (Karimnagar); Ankushapur (Rajanna Sircilla); Bhadrachalam - 7 (Bhadradari Kothagudem); Jakkepalli (Khammam); Kanmanoor and Lingampally (Mahabubnagar); Gopaldinne (Wanaparthy); Kistapuram and Yerrabelli (Nalgonda); Madnoor-2 (Kamareddy); Kothwalguda and Janwada (Ranga Reddy) and Akunoor-1 (Siddipet).

As per schedule, the Election Notice by the Returning Officer will be issued on December 27. The last date for filing of nominations will be January 2 and they will be examined on January 3. Appeals against the rejection of nominations can be filed before the RDO on January 4 and the next day, they will be disposed of.

The last date of withdrawal of candidature will be January 6. The polling will be held on January 11 and the re-polls, if required will be on January 12.

The counting of votes and declaration of results will take place on January 13.
