Rajasthan High court issues notice to ministries on ban on Condom Ad

Rajasthan, Dec 21: After the Ministry of information and broadcasting has banned broadcast of condom ads between 6am to 10pm, the Rajasthan High court has issued a notice to several ministries on Wednesday to explain why the ban should not be quashed.

Rajasthan HC has issued notices to the ministry of information and broadcasting and ministry of medical, health and family planning.

The court has given time of eight weeks to the two ministries to give reason for the ban. However, the next hearing date is not fixed yet.

A division bench of chief justice Pradeep Nandrajog and
justice DC Somani was hearing a PIL filed by Global Alliance for Human Rights, an NGO working for the welfare of people with HIV/AIDS.
