EC Allocates 'pressure Cooker' to TTV Dinakaran in RK Nagar Bypoll

Chennai Dec 8: Election Commission has allocated 'pressure cooker' symbol to the Former AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran to contest in upcoming RK Nagar bypoll. The leader was expelled from the party by the AIADMK party.

Earlier he has urged the EC to allocate hat symbol as he was contesting as an Independent candidate and Earlier EC has allocated the 'Two Leaves' symbol to Palani Swamy and Pannerselvam faction. The EC had allocated the hat symbol to another candidate.

Earlier the Delhi High Court dismissed the plea of Dhinakaran to get 'hat' symbol and left the final decision in the matter with the returning officer. The ousted leader has campaigned in the constituency with his newly allotted symbol and urged people to vote for him.

The RK Nagar Bypoll would be conducted on December 21. The by-poll is being conducted after the seat fell vacant due to the demise of
former chief minister Jayalalitha. Earlier the EC had rejected the nominations of Actor Vishal and Deepa Kumar.
