Kolkata Dec 6: In a Move to counter Reliance JIo, Airtel company has tied up with Intex Technologies to unveil a new series of affordable 4G smartphones with advanced features with a price of Rs 1,650 to Rs 4,400 range.
According to the agreement Intex Aqua LIONS N1, the Aqua 4 and the Aqua S3 will be sold to Airtel customers for a cash down payment.However, a cashback would be offered to customers if they recharge the phone with a certain amount for 3 years.
Airtel company has said that the agreement is under the project 'Mera Pehla 4G smartphone' drive, aimed to deliver 4G phone options to the market at a cheaper rate.
The company has already tied up with Karbonn Mobiles and Celkon mobiles to launch smartphones at a cheaper price.However, the recharge amount that customers would recharge for 3 years has not been specified.
Currently, Reliance Jio has launched Jiophone a 4G Volte which is available at Rs 1500 security deposit which would be refunded after 3 years.
