62,000 Companies deposited Rs 21,000 CR post Note ban

New Delhi Dec 6: The effects of demonetisation are visible as more data of banks deposits are being analyzed and the government has revealed that 62,300 companies with 88,000 bank accounts have deposited and withdraw 21,000 crore rupees post demonetization.

Sources said that these companies belong to 2 lakh companies which were struck off from the Register of Companies as they were found inactive for over two years or had defaulted on regulatory compliance.

Meanwhile, the Corporate affairs has said that "We have asked the department of financial services to take action against the banks that have not shared the information on the bank account transactions of the struck off companies. The whole picture will be revealed only after complete data is made known to us ."

Sources said that banks have not yet given the data of 1.6 L companies and the data would reveal many more facts earlier too similar data was revealed and the more data is expected to be revealed in coming months.
