2G Spectrum case : Special Court to announce verdict on Dec 21

New Delhi Dec 5: 2G Scam has been the most discussed scam in India and there are reports that there was a loss of RS 1.76 Lakh crore to the government as the spectrum licenses to telecom operator were issued Arbitrarily.A special Court has said that it would pronounce its verdict in the 2G spectrum scam case on December 21.

Earlier 2 cases were filed by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and another one by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The CBI in its charge sheet named former Telecom Minister A Raja, DMK Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi and others and alleged that there was a loss of Rs. 30,984 crore in the allocation of 122 licenses for 2G spectrum.



ED has also filed a case in 2014 and has also named A Raja and Kanimozhi and others in the case and earlier the supreme court has canceled the licenses allocated to 122 telecom companies.

Currently, A Raja and kanimozhi are out on bail and the CBI court has also said that the verdict on Essar case would be delivered on Dec 21.
