Jayalalithaas first death anniversary

Chennai, December 05: Former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa was remembered on her first death anniversary on Tuesday, with ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) veterans E Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam leading the party supporters in paying tributes.

Mr. Panneerselvam exhorted the party cadres to ensure the continuance of the AIADMK government and work for success in all future elections.

Ms Jayalalithaa, revered as Amma across the state, had died last year after a prolonged illness. The four-time Chief Minister, known for her Amma canteens.



Clad in black shirts, AIADMK coordinator Pannneerselvam and co-coordinator Palaniswami led a silent march of party functionaries including ministers, MPs and MLAs from Anna Salai to late Jayalalithaa's burial site at Marina beach, and paid floral tributes at the bedecked mausoleum.
