New Delhi Dec 4: In a Move to cub promotion and promote high efficient vehicles the union government has decided to Amend the Motor Vehicles Act and the Draft Amendments were released to the public .
According to draft, the registration of BS-IV vehicles would be banned from June 30, 2020, and all manufacturers, Companies, and customers must shift to BS-VI vehicles from April 1, 2020.The Government has already advanced the deadline to shift to Euro-VI emission standards.
Earlier the Supreme court has banned the registration of BS-3 vehicles from April 1, 2017, and urged all the manufacturers to become BS-IV compliant.
Sources said that the government would amend the law in the upcoming winter session of the parliament. BS-VI vehicles are the most upgraded vehicles and these vehicles utilize less fuel and the smoke emitted is less and these cause less pollution compared to existing vehicles.
