Hyderabad Metro Rail project-Pride of people and not Politicians

Hyderabad Metro rail project has been inaugurated after delay and the people have responded positively and enjoyed the journey and they hoped that metro fares would come down as occupancy increases. However, on the other hand, all political parties have taken credit for themselves for the project. However the history of the project is as follows

2008 -Ys Rajashekhar Reddy has invited proposals for construction of metro in the Hyderabad city and Then famous Satyam Company had proposed bids. However, the project was called off because
of the financial irregularities of Satyam company and the chairman was arrested.

2011- A fresh proposals were invited by the Congress Government and it was decided that the project would be constructed under Public Private Partnership.

2012 -L& T was awarded the contract and it has started construction of the project.



2013-During Telangana agitation TRs party chief KCR has fired on undivided CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy and said that huge corruption has taken place in the project and said that "I would destroy all metro pillars after coming to power"

2015- Reports have erupted that contract between L& T would be canceled because of the difference of opinion in the alignment of the metro at few junctions such as assembly, Sultan Bazar and Old city

2015 Dec-All decks cleared as the differences were settled

June 2017- Project deadline has been extended until Dec 2018

Nov 28, 2017 - 30 KM of Metro was inaugurated.

Finally, people have said that "It is their will and Hyderabad peoples dream that metro project has overcome all hurdles and the credit would belong to them and not any politician including present government or erstwhile Congress government ".
