DELL CEO about women empowerment at GES 2017

Hyderabad, Nov 29: The GES 2017 inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ivanka Trump, the 8th edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad began with a plenary session on the issue 'Innovations in Workforce Development and Skills Training' on its second day.

Circling around the theme 'women first, prosperity for all', the session on Wednesday aimed to boost female participation in the workforce through increased access to skills, training, education, and career counseling.

Karen Quintos, the winner of working mother of the year 2012, spoke about Dell's initiatives to support women into leadership roles at Dell and said that women must be confident in themselves and their capabilities. She further advised women to 'stay the course' when things get difficult on their road to success during remarks at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit plenary session.

He said, "The biases that exist in society have to be addressed, and men need to be a part of that conversation. Business outcomes are great when you have diverse thinking."

Ivanka Trump reiterated the importance of technology in today's world, saying, "Technology is a great driver of entrepreneurship because it emboldens women to start their own businesses, reduces barriers to starting new businesses, and creates flexibility for the modern working family."
