KTR about Hyderabad Metro Second Phase

Hyderabad Nov 26: The Hyderabad Metro rail first phase would be inaugurated on Nov 28 on Nov 28 By PM Modi.30 Km will be thrown open to the people on Nov 29.The remaining phases would be completed by Dec 2018. The second phase of the metro project has also come up under discussion from the state government.

Telangana IT Minister KTR has said that "Discussions are already on with different organizations. I will be visiting Japan in January on a study tour. The government is committed to extending the quality and safe public transportation in Hyderabad."



Currently the Government is in discussion with Japan International Cooperative Agency (JAICA) to fund the project and the Metro would be extended to the Hyderabad International Airport shamshabad. The Telangana Government want external agencies to fund
60 % of the project and the center and state governments would fund the remaining 40 %.

However the L& T company which has constructed 1st phase of the project has also shown interest in the construction of 2nd phase too. and is in process of Conducting pre-feasibility studies.

The first phase was built at a cost of Rs 14,132 cr and it is the largest PPP project with 90 % of the funds spent by L& T.
