Rs.20000 Crores spent over 2 lakh marriages in 3 days

Hyderabad, Nov 26: The Telugu States witnessed a huge rush of couples tying the marital knot across the states during the three-day auspicious period on November 23, 24 and 25.

More than 2 lakh marriages were scheduled in these 3 auspicious days.

After this week, the days are considered as inauspicious and the next good muhurtams are not until late February.

There has also been a sudden increase in the demands for priests, function halls, flowers and music bands. Some function halls have been booked for 2-3 marriages on the same day which is an income booster to the owners.



For a basic estimation, Each marriage expenditure is Rs.10lakhs, then for total marriages, More than Rs. 20,000 Crore of money has been spent.

A huge rush has been seen in the public transport sector with people traveling to their hometowns. Private transport agencies have also hiked the ticket prices. These three days have been so busy that even the AP assembly has declared holidays for the sessions on 23, 24 and 25 of November.
