Egypt Mosque was attacked due to association with Sufi Muslims

Egypt Nov 25: The Friday attack on Mosque in Egypt left more than 200 dead, no one has openly claimed responsibility of the attack, however reports have come forward that the mosque was associated with Sufi Muslims.

IS is the main suspect in the attack and as IS have already killed dozens of Sufi's in past and has vowed to eliminate them, the attack hints more towards IS.

A Bedouin tribal leader said the Rawda mosque, was known as a Sufi mosque and contained a "zawiya" – a lodge used by the mystics for prayers and gatherings.

According to IS, practicing Sufism is a great sin , but in much of the Muslim world, Sufism has for centuries been accepted and practised by mainstream Muslims and Sunni Islam's most important theologians.
