KTR urges steel minister to set up plant at Bayyaram

New Delhi Nov 24: Telangana Industries minister KTR has met union steel minister and has discussed the proposal to set up a Steel Plant in Bayyaram. The Union Minister Birender Singh has responded positively and said that the central government would consider the proposal if a Detailed Project report is prepared.

Earlier Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had insistited the central government to set up a plant as promised in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014. The Centre had constituted a task force to study the feasibility of the same.



Rama Rao explained to the Union Minister about the potential of iron ore that is available in the area is 70 million ton in the area and 100 million tonn was available in the adjacent Chattisgarh district.

KTR told the media that "the Union Minister was positive towards the proposal and promised to sort out minor glitches by December end. "
