Goa-Patna express derails :3 dead

Uttarpradesh Nov 24: In a Tragic incident, Vasco De Gama Patna Express derailed near Uttar Pradesh's Banda on Friday.At least 3 people are dead and 7 others were injured after 13 coaches of the train were derailed.

The accident occurred at the Manikpur station in Chitrakoot district at 4.18 a.m. Currently, the victims were shifted to local hospitals for treatment.The 13 derailed coaches comprise S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8, S9, S10, S11, two extra sleeper coaches and two general coaches.



Railways has announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to kin of dead in the derailment, Rs 1 lakh for those with grievous injuries, and Rs 50,000 for those with simple injuries.

All passengers remaining were accompanied in another train and they reached their destination Patna.Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has expressed condolences to the deceased.
